On both conical strainers and basket strainers handles are sized to 1” wide x 3” long in 16-gauge material. For plate strainers, handles are sized to 1” wide x 5.5” long in 16-gauge material. ISM can accommodate both raised face or ring joint (RTJ) flanges.

Basket Strainers are used in operations that require more capacity with limited linear space in the line.  The basket screen design allows you to optimize your open area while reducing pressure loss.  Basket strainers are used to protect pumps, pipelines, valves and nozzles.  The simple basket design allows for easy and frequent cleaning.  By catching debris inline, you greatly reduce downtime.      

Basket Strainer Replacement Screens are fabricated shorter in length than the temporary cone styles, allowing for more open area and higher flow while taking up less pipe length. The conical strainer typically works better for higher-pressure applications due to the conical design. Both products can be manufactured with extra supports and reinforcement rings for heavy load and high-pressure applications.

Customization

ISM is able to design, engineer, and manufacture customized screens for your specific application. In 304 or 316 stainless steel and carbon steel, ISM can fabricate screens to any length or diameter.

Mesh

Mesh can range from 8 mesh up to 400 mesh. Depending on the direction of the flow, wire mesh can be added to the inside or outside of the strainer. Made with a stainless or mild steel perforated plate core and available with wire mesh size from 1/4” to 37 microns. Our temporary strainers provide effective filtration for your piping system.
