Temporary Pipeline Strainers
Industrial Screen & Maintenance (ISM) fabricates temporary basket, cone (also known as witch hat strainers), and plate strainers made from heavy gauge perforated plate with punch hole patterns designed to catch debris. ISM’s basket, cone, and plate strainers are a cost-effective solution for startup applications. With over 50 years of experience, we understand the standards and quality are required to work within the industry. ISM stocks many standard sizes for quick shipment. Plate Strainers are available in Carbon Steel, 304 or 316 SS in a variety of perforated steels with or without mesh.
Basket and Cone Strainers
OPEN AREA FOR BASKET AND CONE STRAINERS (LENGTH)
ISM Stocks 150/300# 100% open area conical strainers. The open area is typically 100% on all stocked screens sizes. Longer lengths (more open area) or shorter lengths (less open area) are available upon request.
BASKET STRAINER VS. CONE STRAINER (WITCH HAT STRAINERS)
Basket Strainers are fabricated shorter in length than the temporary cone styles, allowing for more open area and higher flow while taking up less pipe length. The conical strainer typically works better for higher-pressure applications due to the conical design. Both products can be manufactured with extra supports and reinforcement rings for heavy load and high-pressure applications.

WHY USE TEMPORARY SCREENS?
Temporary screens effectively stop damage to valves, pumps, meters, pipelines, and spray nozzles and other mechanical equipment from particulates and contaminates during the startup process of new or existing equipment. Our strainers have been utilized extensively in the oil and gas industry. This cost-effective solution requires no modifications to your current piping structure and can be cleaned for reuse.

Customizations and Mesh
CUSTOMIZATION
ISM is able to design, engineer, and manufacture customized screens for your specific application. In 304 or 316 stainless steel and carbon steel, ISM can fabricate screens to any length or diameter.
MESH
Mesh can range from 8 mesh up to 400 mesh. Depending on the direction of the flow, wire mesh can be added to the inside or outside of the strainer. Made with a stainless or mild steel perforated plate core and available with wire mesh size from 1/4” to 37 microns. Our temporary strainers provide effective filtration for your piping system.
Traceability
HANDLES & FLANGES
On both conical strainers and basket strainers handles are sized to 1” wide x 3” long in 16-gauge material. For plate strainers, Handles are sized to 1” wide x 5.5” long in 16-gauge material. ISM can accommodate both raised face or ring joint (RTJ) flanges.
TRACEABILITY
All screens are manufactured from 100% traceable materials. USA material certifications are available upon request.
