Phosphate Coating Process
Phosphating is a chemical process widely used on metal parts, either as a stand-alone barrier coating or a primer under other coatings. Phosphate coatings are commonly performed for improving componant lubricity, enhancing the wear life, corrosion resistance, and better adhesion of additional coatings or paint. ISM Phosphate can be applied to a variety of metals; steel, cast iron or powdered metal and threaded steel parts, followed by an oil topcoat, that adds anti-galling and rust inhibiting properties. Zinc, phosphate coatings provide a durable and visually pleasing option when compared to alternative expensive coating options. Our phosphate coating is an affordable option while providing superior corrosion and rusting resistance. Our coatings work well for prolonging the life of your steel components, provide an excellent base for lubricants and can also be used as a pre-treatment for polyurethane or painted coatings.

Industrial Screen and Maintenance (ISM) has two locations, the original Machine Shop in Casper, WY since 1969 and a full-service Machine Shop in Grand Junction, CO established 2005. Both facilities have CNC lathes, mills and manual machines with highly trained machinists, welders, and fabricators with decades of experience. ISM carries a large inventory of all common high yield alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper.
