Custom Urethane Couplings
A coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their ends to transfer power. Their primary purpose is to join two pieces of rotating equipment together while permitting some degree of misalignment and movement or both.
Couplings are most often used to transfer power from a motor to a pump, connecting shafts of two machines to provide mechanical flexibility, prevent shock and vibrations from transferring from one piece of equipment to another and potentially slip when torque overloads occur.
Polyurethane couplings utilize urethane's unique properties to solve problems rubber and steel cannot. Simply put, flexible polyurethane couplings are more resistant to both impacts as well as abrasion. Plus, they dampen shock load and vibration and act as a buffer from metal on metal contact. Our couplings reduce equipment wear and tear and spare expensive breakdowns and repairs.
