Polyurethane Bushings Manufacturer
Industrial Screen and Maintenance (ISM) knows polyurethane. With advanced applications since the late 1960’s, we’ve been able to work with industry experts in the automotive and equipment industries to apply cast urethane bushings across several applications including:
Polyurethane Bushing Applications
- Sway Bar Mount Bushings
- Radius Arm Bush Kits
- Differential Mount Bush Kit
- Beam Axle Pivot Bush Kits
- Bump Stops
- Body Mounts
- Torque Arms
- Control Arms
- Strut Rods
- Sway Bars
- End Links
- Trailing Arms
- Track Bars
Benefits
Unlike rubber bushings, polyurethane bushings provide a longer lifespan as they are inherently UV, oil, road chemical, rust and heat resistant. These properties are very beneficial in harsh environments and increase lifespan in comparison to rubber bushings. Plus, they have a better compression set and a high load bearing capacity. Depending upon your application, ISM can customize the color and hardness of your bushings.
Manufacturing Production
In small and large production runs, our team can custom cast urethane bushings. This method of manufacturing allows for short lead times and affordable tooling and prototyping. At ISM, we manufacture bushings to your needs and specifications.
Suspension Bushings
Are you looking to feel the road and drive with efficiency? Polyurethane suspension bushings provide just that. On the Shore hardness scale, polyurethane bushings are between 80A and 95A (think skateboard wheels) and rubber bushings run between 18A and 60A (similar to a pencil eraser). Since the bushings exist in in areas of movement in the chassis and suspension system, different hardness materials will affect both comfort and vehicle handling. The harder the bushing, the more efficient the suspension system. Thus, cornering and turning are easier. Vehicle stiffness and handling are often a matter of preference for the driver. Thus, customization is often need to achieve the perfect balance.
Polyurethane Material Advantages
vs Plastic | vs Rubber | vs Metal |
Impact and abrasion resistance | High tolerance to oil, oxygen and greases | More flexible and easier to mold |
Elastomeric memory | Cut, tear, and high abrasion resistance | Quieter to operate |
More durable and impact resistant | Wider hardness range | Abrasion resistance |
Low temperature resistance | Ozone resistance | Lightweight & easily moldable |
Radiation resistance | Radiation resistance | Corrosion resistance |
Cold flow resistance | Castable | Impact resistant |
Thick section molding | Colorability | Non-conductive |
